This 2018 Value-Based Care course will review the historical use of continuous ECG monitoring in early outpatient (Phase 2) cardiac rehabilitation, including safety and relevant insurance regulations. The rationale and research regarding non-ECG monitored cardiac rehabilitation will be discussed. Considerations for moving a patient off of continuous ECG monitoring will be explored along with who should remain on telemetry during exercise. Lastly, contemporary models of titrated ECG monitoring will be presented and discussed.
