2016 Webcast: Emerging Strategies for Prescribing Exercise in Heart Failure Patients
In addition to describing the epidemiology and pathophysiology of heart failure (HF), this webinar will discuss the vital role of exercise therapy in the management of both HFrEF and HFpEF patients. Consensus statements from several professional organizations will be reviewed. In addition to describing the traditional approaches to prescribing exercise in HF patients, this webinar will also describe several emerging approaches for prescribing exercise in HF patients including; pre-habilitation, high intensity interval training (HIIT), as well as resistance training. Finally the potential benefits of weight loss in HF patients will be discussed.
