This course will provide participants with important and current research that can support and encourage physician referral of their patients to Cardiac Rehabilitation programs, as well as a high level background of value-based care and talking points and strategies to have conversations with their administration about the important role of cardiac rehabilitation.

- To understand the current scientific basis for delivery of Cardiac Rehabilitation services as a powerful therapeutic modality for secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease.
- Review the pleiotropic benefits of physical activity & fitness on risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease
- To recognize the benefits of Cardiac Rehabilitation services on healthcare utilization and cost.
- Explain the current trends of value based care and the impact they are having on the entire continuum of care, including cardiac rehab.
- Outline talking points that can be used when discussing the role of cardiac rehab in the service line with administration
- Discuss strategies to improve the value proposition that will resonate with administration.
