We will explain the development of a specific inpatient and outpatient pulmonary rehab protocol for pre and post-lung transplant patients. The protocol was developed through a multidisciplinary approach involving the inpatient and outpatient pulmonary rehab programs in collaboration with the lung transplant team. We will discuss how our programs success with the lung volume reduction surgery (LVRS) patient population led to the development of this protocol. This session will describe the rationale, implementation, and outcomes of this transplant-specific protocol. We will provide details about recommended exercises, activities and educational topics that best benefit these patients throughout the entire transplant process. We will discuss challenges in working with lung transplant patients and adaptations taken to best serve this patient population. We will discuss methods that have led to success with this population.
Please note, if you attended this session at the 2019 Annual Meeting in Portland and claimed CE for the live session, you cannot also get CE for the recorded session.
