The goal of this session is to empower attendees to utilize diet intake data effectively in CR. Summary guidance will be provided re: the most valid tools to use in CR and PR and the science behind that analysis. Pre-admission scores need to inform guidance in goal setting, counseling, and education. How scores are expected to change while in CR is an important component of goal setting. Guidance will be given on how to set realistic SMART goals as outlined in the Nutrition Chapter in the 2020 CR Guidelines. Possible criteria for referral to dietitian will be suggested as well ideas on how to optimize available dietitian time. Further, guidance will be given how to utilize pre and post scores in QI and optimize their use in the CR registry.
