2022 Webinar: Helping Patients Implement Change: Using Motivational Interviewing
This webinar will briefly review what is known about behavior change in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Then, this webinar will introduce and define Motivational Interviewing and its overarching principles and goals. The theoretical model of stages of behavior change will be reviewed. The application of Motivational interviewing techniques to patients in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation will be discussed, both in the context of individual interactions with patients as well as group settings. A case vignette will be presented and discussed.
